Tracking in Typography

Tracking in typography is the letter spacing in a word. Sometimes the tracking can be small making the word seem close together and sometimes the tracking can be large making the word seem more spread apart.
We have to be careful when using small tracking as it can make the letters seem unclear. The ascending and descending letter such as ''b'' and ''p'' can sometimes join into other letters making them unrecognisable and sometimes if the tracking is too large it can be difficult to read what the word is actually saying.

Example of good tracking

As you can see the word is very clear and organised correctly making this a good example of tracking in typography. The ascending and descending letters are not combined making it a specifically clear word.
Example of bad tracking
This is a bad example of tracking in typography as the letters are very close together making it a struggle to read. Depending on the word it can be made even harder this word does not contain ascending and descending letter if it would of the word would be difficult to understand. It just really depends on the word to decide if the tracking needs to be large or small to make it clearer to the audience
